Virtual College Exploration

Virtual College Exploration
Posted on 04/09/2020
Over the past several weeks, we have experienced unprecedented changes in college admissions, education, and our world. An unfortunate consequence of social distancing means the cancellation of almost all upcoming college events and visits nationwide. StriveScan was inspired to find an alternative to still enable these connections and help support students in their college planning in this new environment of e-learning and video conferencing. With input from their 19 association partners (including the NJ Counseling Association), their Virtual College Exploration week was born.

The Strive Virtual College Exploration Week is a series of almost 100 online panel presentations with 300+ colleges from around the country and internationally, over four days.  Students and parents can sign up to participate in these 45 minute presentations on:

**Finding college fit
** College essay writing
**Parents role in the college application process
**College Admission Decisions- Fact vs Myth
**In-state options vs. Going out of state
**Many more (96 in total)

Students can browse the schedule or search based on topic, state, or specific college/university. They can also get more information on each institution presenting, including the school’s location, size, average GPA, test scores, and Test Optional status.

Student Registration
Registration for students and parents is now live---- www.strivescan.com/virtual
Students should register for each panel for which they want to attend. Once they register, they’ll receive a confirmation email with their unique link to join the Zoom webinar. (Students will also receive a barcode, but the barcode is not necessary for this virtual event.)

More Opportunities Coming
Due to overwhelming popularity, they  have intentions of expanding this program to a second week. Stay tuned for more information!
