Teen Mental Health First Aid

We’re thrilled to share that the County of Bergen’s Department of Health Services’ Division of Mental Health is partnering with Fort Lee High School in order to participate in the The National Council for Behavioral Health and Lady Gaga's Born This Way Foundation's expanded pilot program.

We are one of 35 sites nationwide that will be introducing Teen Mental First Aid(tMHFA) to our school community. This program will be offered to our 10th grade class and is slated to begin in late fall. More specific information regarding the start date of the program will be coming in the near future.

The course specifically teaches the important step of involving a responsible and trusted adult. As such, we have also trained over 90 staff members throughout the district in Youth Mental Health First Aid.

Thank you for your continued support of Fort Lee High School and this community. We are excited to support a path toward greater awareness about mental health and increased capacity to respond to students with mental health problems.
